BIOGRAPHY

Nevena Bridgen is an international soprano and the permanent principal soloist of The National Opera Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia. As a child growing up in the midst of the Balkans War, she discovered her natural gift of music. Nevena has spent her career exploring how sound itself can be converted from a reminder of conflict to a message of peace and love. Her purpose is to use her voice in music to promote global friendship across international borders.

During the pandemic the Daily Mail premiered her music video for the song Adagio by Albinoni, which Nevena made in collaboration with British producer and composer Rupert Cross as a original peace.

Nevena recently released her opera video of Tosca’s aria Vissi’d arte to honour the 122nd anniversary of  the first performance  of Puccini’s Tosca.

Soprano Nevena Bridgen

Nevena Bridgen holds a MMus from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.  
She made her house debut at the National Opera Theatre Belgrade in 2014 as Susana in The Marriage of Figaro and later joined the ensemble of the National Opera Theatre in Belgrade as a principal soloist in 2015. 

Some of the previous opera seasons highlights include her  roles of Sister Angelica in Sister Angelica, Mimi in La Boheme, Tatyana in Onegin, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Zerlina in Don Giovanni etc 

In 2020 Nevena debuted at the Grand Opera of Uzbekistan in Tashkent where she sang as a guest artist in the role of Mimi in La Boheme, for which she was critically acclaimed. 

Her American debut was as Countess in Marriage of Figaro at the National Opera Centre in New York.

The current opera season 2021/22 highlights include her role as Micaela in Carmen, Eurdice in Orfeo et Eurydice.

Next Season 2022/23 she is expected to debut as Liu in Turandot, Tosca  and Alice in Falstaff.  

Nevena is regularly featured in British TV and media outlets such as The Times, Daily Mail, BBC as well as Serbia’s largest media outlets.
